God, good, is all

Wed., 2/18/15 readings, 2nd Church, Berkeley
SH Ps. 33:5 1st the
5 …the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.
SH Ps. 34:10 1st they
10 …they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.
SH Ps. 66:8
8 O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:
SH Ps. 107:1, 8, 14, 20
1 O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. 8 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! 14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder. 20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
SH Ps. 145:3, 4, 7
3 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable. 4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts. 7 They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness.
SH Mark 6:34 1st Jesus
34 …Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.
SH Mark 10:17-23, 26, 27
17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? 18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. 19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. 20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth. 21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. 22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. 23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! 26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved? 27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
SH Matt. 6:1-4
1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. 2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
SH Matt. 13:47 1st the, 48
47 …the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: 48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.
SH Luke 10:38-42
38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. 40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. 41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
SH Gal. 5:22 1st the, 23
22 …the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
SH 311:4-6 (to 1st .)
on matter for manifestation, is not Mind. God is Mind:
all that Mind, God, is, or hath made, is good, and He
made all.
SH 587:19-20
GOOD. God; Spirit; omnipotence; omniscience; om-
nipresence;
SH 119:21-24
God is natural good, and is repre-
sented only by the idea of goodness; while evil should be
regarded as unnatural, because it is opposed to the nature
of Spirit, God.
SH 205:15-21
Befogged in error (the error of believing that matter
can be intelligent for good or evil), we can catch clear
glimpses of God only as the mists disperse,
or as they melt into such thinness that we per-
ceive the divine image in some word or deed
which indicates the true idea, – the supremacy and real-
ity of good, the nothingness and unreality of evil.
SH 192:23-24 (to 1st .)
the right scale. The good you do and embody gives you
the only power obtainable.
SH 294:25-26
Man’s genuine selfhood is recognizable only in what is
good and true.
SH 339:8-9
God, Spirit, alone created all, and called it
good.
SH 427:14-16
Nothing can interfere with the
harmony of being nor end the existence of
man in Science.

SH 526:15-17
God pronounced
good all that He created, and the Scriptures
declare that He created all.
SH 213:11-12
Every step towards goodness is a departure from materi-
ality, and is a tendency towards God, Spirit.
SH 233:10-15
How long it must be
before we arrive at the demonstration of scien-
tific being, no man knoweth, – not even “the
Son but the Father;” but the false claim of error con-
tinues its delusions until the goal of goodness is assidu-
ously earned and won.
SH 244:7-12
If we were to derive all our conceptions of man from
what is seen between the cradle and the grave, happi-
ness and goodness would have no abiding-place in man,
and the worms would rob him of the flesh; but Paul
writes: “The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath
made me free from the law of sin and death.
SH 503:20
Immortal and divine Mind presents the idea of God:
first, in light; second, in reflection; third, in spiritual and
immortal forms of beauty and goodness. But
this Mind creates no element nor symbol of
discord and decay. God creates neither erring thought,
mortal life, mutable truth, nor variable love.
SH 515:22-24
All that
God imparts moves in accord with Him, reflecting good-
ness and power.
SH 516:9-12
God fashions all things, after His own likeness. Life
is reflected in existence, Truth in truthfulness, God in
goodness, which impart their own peace and
permanence.
SH 367:30-4
Because Truth is infinite, error should be known as
nothing. Because Truth is omnipotent in goodness,
error, Truth’s opposite, has no might. Evil is but the
counterpoise of nothingness. The greatest wrong is
but a supposititious opposite of the highest right. The
confidence inspired by Science lies in the fact
that Truth is real and error is unreal.
SH 521:5-6
All that is made is
the work of God, and all is good.
SH 304:3-9
It is ignorance and false belief, based on a material
sense of things, which hide spiritual beauty and good-
ness. Understanding this, Paul said: “Nei-
ther death, nor life, . . . nor things present,
nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor
any other creature, shall be able to separate us from
the love of God.
SH 277:7-12
Good cannot result in evil. As God Himself is
good and is Spirit, goodness and spirituality must be im-
mortal. Their opposites, evil and matter, are mortal
error, and error has no creator. If goodness and spirit-
uality are real, evil and materiality are unreal and can-
not be the outcome of an infinite God, good.
SH 103:15
The maximum
of good is the infinite God and His idea, the All-in-all.
Evil is a suppositional lie.
SH 201:7 Truth
Truth
makes a new creature, in whom old things pass away
and “all things are become new.” Passions, selfishness,
false appetites, hatred, fear, all sensuality, yield to spirit-
uality, and the superabundance of being is on the side
of God, good.
