KJV Phil 2:5
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
KJV Matt 4:17 1st Jesus, 23
17 …Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. 23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
KJV Matt 5:1-10 1st he
1 …he [Jesus] went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: 2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, 3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. 10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
KJV Isaiah 61:1-3
1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; 3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
KJV Luke 18:9-13
9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. 13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
KJV John 8:3-12
3 …the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, 4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? 6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. 7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. 8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. 9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. 12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

S&H 271:8, 21 Sermon on the mount
He [Jesus] knew that the phi-
losophy, Science, and proof of Christianity were in Truth,
casting out all inharmony.
When the Science of Christianity
appears, it will lead you into all truth. The
Sermon on the Mount is the essence of this
Science, and the eternal life, not the death of Jesus, is
its outcome.
S&H 283:1 Poor
As mortals begin to understand Spirit,
they give up the belief that there is any true existence
apart from God.
S&H 518:15
The rich in spirit help the poor in
one grand brotherhood, all having the same
Principle, or Father; and blessed is that man who seeth
his brother’s need and supplieth it, seeking his own in
another’s good. Love giveth to the least spiritual idea
might, immortality, and goodness, which shine through
all as the blossom shines through the bud. All the varied
expressions of God reflect health, holiness, immortality –
infinite Life, Truth, and Love.
S&H 265:23-5 Mourn
Who that has felt the loss of human peace has not gained
stronger desires for spiritual joy? The aspiration after
heavenly good comes even before we discover
what belongs to wisdom and Love. The loss
of earthly hopes and pleasures brightens the ascending
path of many a heart. The pains of sense quickly inform
us that the pleasures of sense are mortal and that joy is
spiritual.
The pains of sense are salutary, if they wrench away
false pleasurable beliefs and transplant the affections
from sense to Soul, where the creations of God are good,
“rejoicing the heart.” Such is the sword of
Science, with which Truth decapitates error,
materiality giving place to man’s higher individuality and
destiny.
S&H 192:30 Meek
Whatever holds human thought in line with unselfed
love, receives directly the divine power.
S&H 272:3-8
The spiritual sense of truth must be gained before
Truth can be understood. This sense is assimilated only
as we are honest, unselfish, loving, and meek.
In the soil of an “honest and good heart” the
seed must be sown; else it beareth not much fruit, for the
swinish element in human nature uproots it.
S&H 4:3-5, 12-22 Hunger
What we most need is the prayer of fervent desire
for growth in grace, expressed in patience, meekness,
love, and good deeds.
The habitual struggle to be always good is unceas-
ing prayer. Its motives are made manifest in the
blessings they bring,- blessings which, even if not
acknowledged in audible words, attest our worthiness
to be partakers of Love.
Simply asking that we may love God will never
make us love Him; but the longing to be better
and holier, expressed in daily watchful-
ness and in striving to assimilate more of
the divine character, will mould and fashion us
anew, until we awake in His likeness.
S&H 191:4
As mortals give up the delusion that there is more than
one Mind, more than one God, man in God’s likeness will
appear, and this eternal man will include in that likeness
no material element.
S&H 495:31-8 Mercy
In the Science of Mind, you will soon ascertain
that error cannot destroy error. You will also learn
that in Science there is no transfer of evil suggestions
from one mortal to another, for there is but one Mind,
and this ever-present omnipotent Mind is reflected by
man and governs the entire universe. You will learn
that in Christian Science the first duty is to obey
God, to have one Mind, and to love another as
yourself.
S&H 572:6-12 (to ,)
“Love one another” (I John, iii. 23), is the most simple and profound counsel of the inspired writer. In Science we are children of God; but whatever is of material sense, or mortal, belongs not to His children, for materiality is the inverted image of spirituality.
Love fulfils the law of Christian Science(.)
S&H 465:14
The attributes of God are justice,
mercy, wisdom, goodness, and so on.
S&H 323:32-6 Pure
Willingness to become as a little child and
to leave the old for the new, renders thought receptive of
the advanced idea. Gladness to leave the false landmarks
and joy to see them disappear, – this disposition helps
to precipitate the ultimate harmony. The purification
of sense and self is a proof of progress. “Blessed are the
pure in heart: for they shall see God.
S&H 264:28 Peacemakers
When we learn the way in Christian Science and rec-
ognize man’s spiritual being, we shall behold and under-
stand God’s creation, – all the glories of earth and heaven
and man.
S&H 469:30-5
With
one Father, even God, the whole family of man would
be brethren; and with one Mind and that God, or good,
the brotherhood of man would consist of Love and Truth,
and have unity of Principle and spiritual power which
constitute divine Science.
S&H 97:32-3 Persecuted
Earth has no repayment for the persecutions which
attend a new step in Christianity; but the spiritual recom-
pense of the persecuted is assured in the elevation of ex-
istence above mortal discord and in the gift of divine Love.
S&H 98:15
Beyond the frail premises of human beliefs, above the
loosening grasp of creeds, the demonstration of Christian
Mind-healing stands a revealed and practical
Science. It is imperious throughout all ages
as Christ’s revelation of Truth, of Life, and of Love, which
remains inviolate for every man to understand and to
practise.
S&H 444:10-19
Step by
step will those who trust Him find that “God is our refuge
and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Students are advised by the author to be charitable
and kind, not only towards differing forms of religion
and medicine, but to those who hold these dif-
fering opinions. Let us be faithful in pointing
the way through Christ, as we understand it,
but let us also be careful always to “judge righteous judg-
ment,” and never to condemn rashly.
S&H 57:18 Practice
Happiness is spiritual,
born of Truth and Love. It is unselfish; therefore
it cannot exist alone, but requires all mankind to
share it.
S&H 174:17
The thunder of Sinai and the Sermon on the Mount
are pursuing and will overtake the ages, rebuking in
their course all error and proclaiming the kingdom of
heaven on earth. Truth is revealed. It needs only to
be practised.
