Guiding star of being

Wed., 5/21/14 Readings, 2nd Church Berkeley
SH Ex. 13:17 (to 1st ;), 18 (to 1st :), 21
17 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; 18 But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: 21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:
SH Ex. 15:11, 13
11 Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? 13 Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.
SH Ps. 25:9
9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
SH Ps. 31:3
3 For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me.
SH Ps. 48:2, 3
2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King. 3 God is known in her palaces for a refuge.
SH Luke 1:57, 67, 76-79
57 Now Elisabeth’s full time came that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son. 67 And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying, 76 And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; 77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins, 78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, 79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
SH Matt. 1:18-21 (to 1st :)
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. 20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS:

SH Matt. 11:28-30
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
SH II Pet. 1:19
19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
SH Rev. 22:14, 16
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
SH 95:23-25
Led by a solitary star amid
the darkness, the Magi of old foretold the Messiahship
of Truth.
SH vii:1-12
the treatment of disease as well as of sin, her system has
been fully tested and has not been found wanting; but
to reach the heights of Christian Science, man must live
in obedience to its divine Principle. To develop the full
might of this Science, the discords of corporeal sense
must yield to the harmony of spiritual sense, even as the
science of music corrects false tones and gives sweet con-
cord to sound.
Theology and physics teach that both Spirit and
matter are real and good, whereas the fact is that
Spirit is good and real, and matter is Spirit’s oppo-
site.
SH 70:12-13
The divine Mind maintains all identities, from a blade
of grass to a star, as distinct and eternal.
SH 226:29
I saw be-
fore me the awful conflict, the Red Sea and the wilder-
ness; but I pressed on through faith in God, trusting
Truth, the strong deliverer, to guide me into the land
of Christian Science, where fetters fall and the rights of
man are fully known and acknowledged.
SH 566:1
As the children of Israel were guided triumphantly
through the Red Sea, the dark ebbing and flowing tides
of human fear, – as they were led through the
wilderness, walking wearily through the great
desert of human hopes, and anticipating the promised
joy, – so shall the spiritual idea guide all right desires
in their passage from sense to Soul, from a material sense
of existence to the spiritual, up to the glory prepared for
them who love God. Stately Science pauses not, but
moves before them, a pillar of cloud by day and of fire
by night, leading to divine heights.
SH 575:22-2
As the Psalmist saith, “Beautiful for situation, the
joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of
the north, the city of the great King.” It is
indeed a city of the Spirit, fair, royal, and
square. Northward, its gates open to the North Star,
the Word, the polar magnet of Revelation; eastward,
to the star seen by the Wisemen of the Orient, who fol-
lowed it to the manger of Jesus; southward, to the
genial tropics, with the Southern Cross in the skies,
– the Cross of Calvary, which binds human society
into solemn union; westward, to the grand realization
of the Golden Shore of Love and the Peaceful Sea of
Harmony.
SH 538:3-4
Truth should, and does, drive error out of all selfhood.
Truth is a two-edged sword, guarding and guiding.
SH 126:22-31
I have set forth Christian Science and its application
to the treatment of disease just as I have discovered them.
I have demonstrated through Mind the effects
of Truth on the health, longevity, and morals
of men; and I have found nothing in ancient or in modern
systems on which to found my own, except the teachings
and demonstrations of our great Master and the lives of
prophets and apostles. The Bible has been my only au-
thority. I have had no other guide in “the straight and
narrow way” of Truth.
SH 497:3-4
1. As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word
of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life.
SH 149:28-29
Whatever guides thought spiritually benefits
mind and body.
SH 467:13
Having no other gods,
turning to no other but the one perfect Mind to guide
him, man is the likeness of God, pure and eternal, hav-
ing that Mind which was also in Christ.
SH 191:8-15
As a material, theoretical life-basis is found to be a
misapprehension of existence, the spiritual and divine
Principle of man dawns upon human thought,
and leads it to “where the young child was,”
– even to the birth of a new-old idea, to the spiritual
sense of being and of what Life includes. Thus the whole
earth will be transformed by Truth on its pinions of light,
chasing away the darkness of error.

Touching infinity

Readings for Wed., 5/14/14, 2nd Church Berkeley on “Touching infinity”
KJV Ex. 6:2, 3 (to 1st 4th ,)
2 And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: 3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.KJV Gen. 28:10-13 (to 3rd ,), 15 1st I am, 16 (to 1st ;)
10 And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran. 11 And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep. 12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. 13 And, behold, the LORD stood above it, 15 …I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of. 16 And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place;
KJV Ps. 91:1, 9, 10, 14-16
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
KJV Prov. 3:19, 21 1st keep, 22, 24
19 The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens. 21 …keep sound wisdom and discretion: 22 So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck. 24 When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
KJV II Cor. 6:17 1st I, 18
17 …I will receive you. 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
KJV John 1:3, 4
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
KJV John 8:12-14 (to 2nd ;)
12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. 13 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true. 14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
KJV John 10:24, 25, 30
24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. 25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me. 30 I and my Father are one.
KJV Rev. 21:1 (to 1st ;), 3, 5 (to 1st .), 6
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
KJV Rev. 22:21

KJV 581:3
ALMIGHTY.
KJV 249:14-16
God is
the infinite, and infinity never began, will never end, and
includes nothing unlike God.
KJV 256:32
Infinite Mind is the creator, and creation is the
infinite image or idea emanating from this Mind. If
Mind is within and without all things, then all is Mind;
and this definition is scientific.
KJV 258:9-12
Man is more than a material form with a mind inside,
which must escape from its environments in
order to be immortal. Man reflects infinity,
and this reflection is the true idea of God.
KJV 281:14
The one Ego, the one Mind or Spirit called God, is
infinite individuality, which supplies all form and come-
liness and which reflects reality and divinity in individual
spiritual man and things.
KJV 335:32-2 The (to 2nd .), 6
XXI. The Ego is deathless and limitless, for limits
would imply and impose ignorance. Mind is the I AM,
or infinity.
a basis for pantheism.
KJV 469:20
We can have but one Mind, if
that one is infinite. We bury the sense of infinitude,
when we admit that, although God is infinite, evil has a
place in this infinity, for evil can have no place, where all
space is filled with God.
KJV 480:26-32 ; 481:2-4
The Bible declares: “All things were made by Him
[the divine Word]; and without Him was not anything,
made that was made.” This is the eternal
verity of divine Science. If sin, sickness, and
death were understood as nothingness, they would dis-
appear. As vapor melts before the sun, so evil would
vanish before the reality of good.
KJV 502:22-24, 27
1. In the beginning God created the heaven
and the earth.
The infinite has no beginning.
The creative Principle – Life,
Truth, and Love – is God. The universe reflects God.
There is but one creator and one creation. This crea-
tion consists of the unfolding of spiritual ideas and their
identities, which are embraced in the infinite Mind and
forever reflected. These ideas range from the infini-
tesimal to infinity, and the highest ideas are the sons
and daughters of God.
KJV 507:24-29 ; 508:2 the
Infinite Mind creates and governs all, from the men-
tal molecule to infinity. This divine Principle of all
expresses Science and art throughout His
creation, and the immortality of man and the
universe. Creation is ever appearing, and must ever con-
tinue to appear from the nature of its inexhaustible source.
KJV 512:21-24
From the infinite elements of the one
Mind emanate all form, color, quality, and
quantity, and these are mental, both primarily
and secondarily.
KJV 513:26-9
God creates all forms of reality. His thoughts are
spiritual realities. So-called mortal mind – being non-
existent and consequently not within the range of im-
mortal existence – could not by simulating deific power
invert the divine creation, and afterwards recreate per-
sons or things upon its own plane, since noth-
ing exists beyond the range of all-inclusive
infinity, in which and of which God is the
sole creator. Mind, joyous in strength, dwells in the
realm of Mind. Mind’s infinite ideas run and dis-
port themselves. In humility they climb the heights of
holiness.
KJV 520:9-10
Love. Principle and its idea, man, are coexistent and
eternal.
KJV 521:1
Knowledge of this lifts man above
the sod, above earth and its environments, to conscious
spiritual harmony and eternal being.
KJV 519:16-17
What
can fathom infinity! How shall we declare Him, till,
KJV 520:3-5 The
The depth, breadth,
height, might, majesty, and glory of infinite Love fill all
space.

Realizing the presence of divine Love

Realizing the presence of divine Love, Wed., 5/7/14 Readings, 2nd Church Berkeley
SH Ps. 46:1, 10 (to 1st :)
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 10 Be still, and know that I am God:
SH Ps. 95:1, 2
1 O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
SH I Chron. 16:27, 29 1st worship, 34
27 Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place. 29 …worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. 34 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.
SH Ex. 3:1 (to 1st :), 2-5
1 Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: 2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. 3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. 4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. 5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.
SH Jer. 23:23
23 Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?
SH Ex. 33:12, 14
12 And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. 14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
SH Ps. 90:1, 4, 12 1st teach, 14
1 Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. 4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. 12 …teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. 14 O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
SH Ps. 139:1 1st thou, 2, 7
1 …thou hast searched me, and known me. 2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. 7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
SH Luke 4:14, 15
14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. 15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
SH Luke 15:11, 25-29 (to 1st :), 30, 31
11 And he said, A certain man had two sons: 25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing. 26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant. 27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound. 28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him. 29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: 30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf. 31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
SH Ps. 16:11 (to 1st ;)
11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy;
SH 351:8
The author became a member of the orthodox Con-
gregational Church in early years. Later she learned
that her own prayers failed to heal her as did the prayers
of her devout parents and the church; but when the
spiritual sense of the creed was discerned in the Science
of Christianity, this spiritual sense was a present help. It
was the living, palpitating presence of Christ, Truth, which
healed the sick.
SH 519:11-14
Hu-
man capacity is slow to discern and to grasp
God’s creation and the divine power and presence which
go with it, demonstrating its spiritual origin.
SH 292:31-2
In his resurrection and ascension, Jesus showed
that a mortal man is not the real essence of manhood, and
that this unreal material mortality disappears in presence
of the reality.
SH 325:26-29
The time cometh when
the spiritual origin of man, the divine Science which
ushered Jesus into human presence, will be understood
and demonstrated.
SH 465:16-4
Question. – Is there more than one God or Principle?
Answer. – There is not. Principle and its idea is one,
and this one is God, omnipotent, omniscient, and omni-
present Being, and His reflection is man and the universe.
Omni is adopted from the Latin adjective signifying all.
Hence God combines all-power or potency, all-science
or true knowledge, all-presence.
SH 12:1-5
“The prayer of faith shall save the sick,” says the
Scripture. What is this healing prayer? A mere re-
quest that God will heal the sick has no
power to gain more of the divine presence
than is always at hand.
SH 12:31-1
In divine
Science, where prayers are mental, all may avail them-
selves of God as “a very present help in trouble.
SH 14:6
To be “present with the Lord” is to have, not
mere emotional ecstasy or faith, but the actual demon-
stration and understanding of Life as revealed in
Christian Science. To be “with the Lord” is to be in
obedience to the law of God, to be absolutely governed
by divine Love,- by Spirit, not by matter.
SH 174:9-14
The footsteps of thought, rising above material stand-
points, are slow, and portend a long night to the traveller;
but the angels of His presence – the spiritual
intuitions that tell us when “the night is far
spent, the day is at hand” – are our guardians in the
gloom.
SH 266:27-29 (to 1st .)
which originate in mortals are hell. Man is the
idea of Spirit; he reflects the beatific presence, illuming
the universe with light.
SH 512:8-13
Spirit is symbolized by strength, presence, and power,
and also by holy thoughts, winged with Love. These an-
gels of His presence, which have the holiest
charge, abound in the spiritual atmosphere of
Mind, and consequently reproduce their own character-
istics.
SH 303:28
Spiritual man is the image or idea of
God, an idea which cannot be lost nor sep-
arated from its divine Principle. When the evidence
before the material senses yielded to spiritual sense, the
apostle declared that nothing could alienate him from
God, from the sweet sense and presence of Life and
Truth.
SH 412:24
Realize the presence
of health and the fact of harmonious being, until the
body corresponds with the normal conditions of health
and harmony.
SH 470:5
The supposed existence of
more than one mind was the basic error of idolatry. This
error assumed the loss of spiritual power, the loss of the
spiritual presence of Life as infinite Truth without an
unlikeness, and the loss of Love as ever present and
universal.
SH 444:10
Step by
step will those who trust Him find that “God is our refuge
and strength, a very present help in trouble.
SH 275:20-23
Divine metaphysics, as revealed to spiritual understand-
ing, shows clearly that all is Mind, and that Mind is
God, omnipotence, omnipresence, omniscience,
– that is, all power, all presence, all Science.
SH 471:17-19
Man is, and forever has been, God’s re-
flection. God is infinite, therefore ever present, and
there is no other power nor presence.

8 …Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. 13 And God said unto Noah, 18 …with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee. 19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female. 21 And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.
SH Ex. 3:7, 9-12
7 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; 9 Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them. 10 Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt. 11 And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt? 12 And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.

10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. 13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. 16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
SH Mark 7:32-35
32 And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him. 33 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue; 34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened. 35 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.
SH John 10:1-5, 14
1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. 4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. 5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. 14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

SH 2:1 Do
Do we pray to
make ourselves better or to benefit those who hear us,
to enlighten the infinite or to be heard of
men? Are we benefited by praying? Yes,
the desire which goes forth hungering after righteous-
ness is blessed of our Father, and it does not return
unto us void.

like the infinite? Can Deity be known through
the material senses?
The physical senses can obtain no proof of God.
According to Christian Science, the only real senses
of man are spiritual, emanating from divine Mind.
Thought passes from God to man, but neither sensation
nor report goes from material body to Mind. The in-
tercommunication is always from God to His idea, man.

erer of Christian Science early received her
religious education. In childhood, she often listened
with joy to these words, falling from the lips of her
saintly mother, “God is able to raise you up from sick-

she so often quotes: “And these signs shall follow them

quires the spirit of our blessed Master to tell a man his

as felt. It is the “still, small voice” of Truth
uttering itself. We are either turning away
from this utterance, or we are listening to it and going

whereas a belief in many ruling minds hinders
man’s normal drift towards the one Mind, one

Loving Servants of God’s Will

Loving Servants of God’s Will, Wednesday, 4/16/14 Readings, 2nd Church Berkeley
SH Deut. 3:24
24 O Lord GOD, thou hast begun to shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might?
SH Ps. 119:124, 125
124 Deal with thy servant according unto thy mercy, and teach me thy statutes. 125 I am thy servant; give me understanding, that I may know thy testimonies.
SH Josh. 22:5 1st take
5 …take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
SH I Sam. 3:7-10 1st Samuel
7 …Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him. 8 And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child. 9 Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place. 10 And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.

SH John 13:3-5, 12-17
3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God; 4 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. 5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. 12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? 13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. 16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. 17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
SH Mark 9:35

10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; 11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
SH 43:32-4 Truth
Truth and Life must
seal the victory over error and death, before the thorns
can be laid aside for a crown, the benediction follow,
“Well done, good and faithful servant,” and the suprem-
acy of Spirit be demonstrated.
SH 119:27-1
As astron-
omy reverses the human perception of the
movement of the solar system, so Christian Science re-
verses the seeming relation of Soul and body and makes
body tributary to Mind. Thus it is with man, who
is but the humble servant of the restful Mind, though it
seems otherwise to finite sense.
SH 146:7
By
trusting matter to destroy its own discord, health and
harmony have been sacrificed. Such systems are barren
of the vitality of spiritual power, by which material sense
is made the servant of Science and religion becomes
Christlike.
SH 216:11-21
The understanding that the Ego is Mind, and that
there is but one Mind or intelligence, begins at once to
destroy the errors of mortal sense and to supply
the truth of immortal sense. This understand-
ing makes the body harmonious; it makes the nerves,
bones, brain, etc., servants, instead of masters. If man
is governed by the law of divine Mind, his body is in sub-
mission to everlasting Life and Truth and Love. The
great mistake of mortals is to suppose that man, God’s
image and likeness, is both matter and Spirit, both good
and evil.
SH 267:19-25
When examined in the light of divine Science, mortals
present more than is detected upon the surface, since
inverted thoughts and erroneous beliefs must
be counterfeits of Truth. Thought is bor-
rowed from a higher source than matter, and
by reversal, errors serve as waymarks to the one Mind,
in which all error disappears in celestial Truth.
SH 494:19-24
Reason, rightly di-
rected, serves to correct the errors of corporeal sense; but
sin, sickness, and death will seem real (even as the ex-
periences of the sleeping dream seem real) until the Sci-
ence of man’s eternal harmony breaks their illusion with
the unbroken reality of scientific being.
SH 201:1
THE best sermon ever preached is Truth practised
and demonstrated by the destruction of sin, sickness,
and death. Knowing this and knowing too
that one affection would be supreme in us and
take the lead in our lives, Jesus said, “No man can serve
two masters.
SH 79:29-3
Mind-science teaches that mortals need “not be weary
in well doing.” It dissipates fatigue in doing
good. Giving does not impoverish us in the
service of our Maker, neither does withholding enrich us.
We have strength in proportion to our apprehension of
the truth, and our strength is not lessened by giving
utterance to truth.
SH 51:28-4
Jesus was unselfish. His spirituality separated him
from sensuousness, and caused the selfish materialist
to hate him; but it was this spirituality which enabled
Jesus to heal the sick, cast out evil, and raise the
dead.
From early boyhood he was about his “Father’s busi-
ness.” His pursuits lay far apart from theirs. His mas-
ter was Spirit; their master was matter. He
served God;
SH 325:20-24
Paul had a clear sense of the demands of Truth upon
mortals physically and spiritually, when he said: “Pre-
sent your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, ac-
ceptable unto God, which is your reasonable
service.
SH 436:11-12
Giving a cup of cold water in Christ’s name, is a Christian
service.
SH 570:14-18, 23-24
Millions of unprejudiced minds – simple seekers for
Truth, weary wanderers, athirst in the desert – are wait-
ing and watching for rest and drink. Give
them a cup of cold water in Christ’s name,
and never fear the consequences.

you impart will give thanks.

Can a miracle really occur? Wed., 4/9/14 Readings, 2nd Church Berkeley

8 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! 9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

8 …the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, 9 When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent. 10 And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent. 11 Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. 12 For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods.
SH Ex. 14:19 1st the, 20 (to 1st ;), 21, 22
19 …the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them: 20 And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; 21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. 22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
SH John 4:46-48 1st Jesus, 50-53 1st Go (to 1st :), 54
46 …Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum. 47 When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death. 48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe. 50 …Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way. 51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth. 52 Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him. 53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: 54 This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee.
SH John 6:1, 2, 5, 8-14
1 After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias. 2 And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased. 5 When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat? 8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, saith unto him, 9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? 10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. 11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. 12 When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. 13 Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten. 14 Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.
SH Num. 14:21 1st as
21 …as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.
SH 591:21-22
MIRACLE. That which is divinely natural, but must
be learned humanly;
SH 117:19-23
Human theories are inadequate to
interpret the divine Principle involved in the miracles
(marvels) wrought by Jesus and especially in his mighty,
crowning, unparalleled, and triumphant exit from the
flesh.
SH 123:16-29
The term CHRISTIAN SCIENCE was introduced by
the author to designate the scientific system of divine
healing.
The revelation consists of two parts:
1. The discovery of this divine Science of Mind-
healing, through a spiritual sense of the Scriptures and
through the teachings of the Comforter, as promised by
the Master.
2. The proof, by present demonstration, that the so-
called miracles of Jesus did not specially belong to a
dispensation now ended, but that they illustrated an
ever-operative divine Principle. The operation of this
Principle indicates the eternality of the scientific order
and continuity of being.
SH 131:26-29
The mission of Jesus confirmed prophecy, and ex-
plained the so-called miracles of olden time as natural
demonstrations of the divine power, demonstra-
tions which were not understood.
SH 134:21-1
The true Logos is demonstrably Christian Science, the
natural law of harmony which overcomes discord, – not
because this Science is supernatural or pre-
ternatural, nor because it is an infraction of
divine law, but because it is the immutable law of God,
good. Jesus said: “I knew that Thou hearest me al-
ways;” and he raised Lazarus from the dead, stilled the
tempest, healed the sick, walked on the water. There
is divine authority for believing in the superiority of
spiritual power over material resistance.
A miracle fulfils God’s law, but does not violate that
law. This fact at present seems more mysterious than
the miracle itself.
SH 135:6-8
Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob.” The miracle
introduces no disorder, but unfolds the primal order,
establishing the Science of God’s unchangeable law.
SH 139:6-9
Moses proved the power of Mind by what men
called miracles; so did Joshua, Elijah, and
Elisha. The Christian era was ushered in with signs and
wonders.
SH 243:4-9
The divine Love, which made harmless the poisonous
viper, which delivered men from the boiling oil, from
the fiery furnace, from the jaws of the lion,
can heal the sick in every age and triumph
over sin and death. It crowned the demon-
strations of Jesus with unsurpassed power and love.
SH 319:17-20
Mystery, miracle,
sin, and death will disappear when it becomes
fairly understood that the divine Mind controls man and
man has no Mind but God.
SH 343:14-20
Jesus strips all disguise from error, when his teachings
are fully understood. By parable and argument he ex-
plains the impossibility of good producing evil;
and he also scientifically demonstrates this great
fact, proving by what are wrongly called miracles, that
sin, sickness, and death are beliefs – illusive errors –
which he could and did destroy.
SH 560:11-15
The great

SH Gen. 32:24-26, 29 1st 4th And
24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. 25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. 26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. 29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.

SH Matt. 5:43-45
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

work? His work is done, and we have only to avail
ourselves of God’s rule in order to receive His bless-
ing, which enables us to work out our own salvation.
Are we really grateful for the good
already received? Then we shall avail ourselves of the
blessings we have, and thus be fitted to receive more.
If we are ungrateful for Life, Truth, and Love, and
yet return thanks to God for all blessings, we are in-
sincere and incur the sharp censure our Master pro-
nounces on hypocrites. In such a case, the only
acceptable prayer is to put the finger on the lips and
remember our blessings.
SH 4:12
The habitual struggle to be always good is unceas-
ing prayer. Its motives are made manifest in the
blessings they bring,- blessings which, even if not
acknowledged in audible words, attest our worthiness
to be partakers of Love.
SH 15:28-30
Practice not profession, understanding not
belief, gain the ear and right hand of omnipotence and
they assuredly call down infinite blessings.
SH 19:6
Truth and error are irreconcilable. Jesus aided in recon-
ciling man to God by giving man a truer sense of Love,
the divine Principle of Jesus’ teachings, and this truer
sense of Love redeems man from the law of matter,
sin, and death by the law of Spirit,- the law of divine
Love.
SH 13:16-19
If we cherish the desire hon-
estly and silently and humbly, God will bless it, and
we shall incur less risk of overwhelming our real
wishes with a torrent of words.
SH 20:14
Jesus bore our infirmities; he knew the error of mortal
belief, and “with his stripes [the rejection of error] we are
healed.” “Despised and rejected of men,”
returning blessing for cursing, he taught mor-
tals the opposite of themselves, even the nature of God;
and when error felt the power of Truth, the scourge and
the cross awaited the great Teacher. Yet he swerved not,
well knowing that to obey the divine order and trust God,
saves retracing and traversing anew the path from sin to
holiness.
SH 65:1-2
Experience should be the school of virtue, and human
happiness should proceed from man’s highest nature.
SH 238:1
Motives and acts are not rightly valued before they are
understood. It is well to wait till those whom you would
benefit are ready for the blessing, for Science
is working changes in personal character as
well as in the material universe.
To obey the Scriptural command, “Come out from
among them, and be ye separate,” is to incur society’s
frown; but this frown, more than flatteries, enables one
to be Christian. Losing her crucifix, the Roman Catholic
girl said, “I have nothing left but Christ.” “If God be
for us, who can be against us?
SH 324:32
Jesus said substantially, “He that believeth in me
shall not see death.” That is, he who perceives the
true idea of Life loses his belief in death. He who has
the true idea of good loses all sense of evil,
and by reason of this is being ushered into the
undying realities of Spirit. Such a one abideth in Life, –
life obtained not of the body incapable of supporting life,
but of Truth, unfolding its own immortal idea. Jesus
gave the true idea of being, which results in infinite bless-
ings to mortals.
SH 512:8
Spirit is symbolized by strength, presence, and power,
and also by holy thoughts, winged with Love. These an-
gels of His presence, which have the holiest
charge, abound in the spiritual atmosphere of
Mind, and consequently reproduce their own character-
istics. Their individual forms we know not, but we do
know that their natures are allied to God’s nature; and
spiritual blessings, thus typified, are the externalized, yet
subjective, states of faith and spiritual understanding.
SH 570:23-2
Those ready for the blessing
you impart will give thanks. The waters will be paci-
fied, and Christ will command the wave.
When God heals the sick or the sinning, they should
know the great benefit which Mind has wrought. They
should also know the great delusion of mor-
tal mind, when it makes them sick or sinful.
Many are willing to open the eyes of the people to the
power of good resident in divine Mind, but they are
not so willing to point out the evil in human thought,
and expose evil’s hidden mental ways of accomplishing

The Kingdom of Heaven on Earth

2nd Church, Berkeley, Wednesday, March 26, 2014 Readings on “The Kingdom of Heaven on Earth”
SH Ps. 57:5
5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.
SH Gen. 1:1, 11, 26, 28 (to 1st :)
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it:
SH Gen. 2:1
1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
SH Deut. 3:24
24 O Lord GOD, thou hast begun to shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might?
SH Ps. 46:1, 2
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
SH Ps. 46:10 (to 1st :), 11 (to 1st .)
10 Be still, and know that I am God: 11 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
SH Ps. 50:1, 2
1 The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof. 2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.
SH Ps. 67:1 (to 2nd ;), 2
1 God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; 2 That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.
SH Matt. 16:13-19 (to 1st :)
13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven:
SH Matt. 23:9
9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
SH Matt. 24:35
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
SH II Pet. 3:13 1st we
13 …we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
SH 572:19-25
In Revelation xxi. 1 we read: –
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first
heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was
no more sea.
The Revelator had not yet passed the transitional
stage in human experience called death, but he already
saw a new heaven and a new earth.
SH 573:5-9, 13-17
This testimony of Holy
Writ sustains the fact in Science, that the heavens and
earth to one human consciousness, that consciousness
which God bestows, are spiritual, while to another, the
unillumined human mind, the vision is material.
Accompanying this scientific consciousness was an-
other revelation, even the declaration from heaven, su-
preme harmony, that God, the divine Principle
of harmony, is ever with men, and they are
His people.
SH 263:7-10
When mortal man blends his thoughts of existence
with the spiritual and works only as God works,
he will no longer grope in the dark and cling
to earth because he has not tasted heaven.
SH 339:20-25
XXXII. As the mythology of pagan Rome has yielded
to a more spiritual idea of Deity, so will our material
theories yield to spiritual ideas, until the finite
gives place to the infinite, sickness to health,
sin to holiness, and God’s kingdom comes “in
earth, as it is in heaven.
SH 72:30-32
Not personal intercommunion but divine law is the com-
municator of truth, health, and harmony to earth and
humanity.
SH 90:24-25
The admission to one’s self that man is God’s own like-
ness sets man free to master the infinite idea.
SH 361:25-28
A germ of in-
finite Truth, though least in the kingdom of heaven is the
higher hope on earth, but it will be rejected and reviled
until God prepares the soil for the seed.
SH 53:16-18
The world could not interpret aright the discomfort
which Jesus inspired and the spiritual blessings which
might flow from such discomfort.
SH 54:1
Through the
magnitude of his human life, he demonstrated the divine
Life. Out of the amplitude of his pure affection, he de-
fined Love. With the affluence of Truth, he vanquished
error. The world acknowledged not his righteousness,
seeing it not; but earth received the harmony his glorified
example introduced.
SH 191:13
Thus the whole
earth will be transformed by Truth on its pinions of light,
chasing away the darkness of error.
SH 253:9-14
I hope, dear reader, I am leading you into the under-
standing of your divine rights, your heaven-bestowed har-
mony, – that, as you read, you see there is no
cause (outside of erring, mortal, material sense
which is not power) able to make you sick or
sinful;
SH 122:1-7
The evidence of the physical senses often reverses the
real Science of being, and so creates a reign of discord, –
assigning seeming power to sin, sickness, and
death; but the great facts of Life, rightly un-
derstood, defeat this triad of errors, contradict their false
witnesses, and reveal the kingdom of heaven, – the actual
reign of harmony on earth.
SH 118:26
The definitions of material law, as given by natural
science, represent a kingdom necessarily divided against
itself, because these definitions portray law as
physical, not spiritual. Therefore they con-
tradict the divine decrees and violate the law of Love, in
which nature and God are one and the natural order of
heaven comes down to earth.
SH 202:17-23
God, neither sins, suffers, nor dies. The days
of our pilgrimage will multiply instead of di-
minish, when God’s kingdom comes on earth; for the
true way leads to life instead of to death, and earthly
experience discloses the finity of error and the infinite
capacities of Truth, in which God gives man dominion
over all the earth.
SH 560:10-15
Heaven represents harmony, and divine Science inter-
prets the Principle of heavenly harmony. The great
miracle, to human sense, is divine Love, and
the grand necessity of existence is to gain the
true idea of what constitutes the kingdom of
heaven in man.

Realizing divine unity and oneness

2nd Church, Berkeley Readings for Wednesday, March 19, 2014 on “Realizing divine unity and oneness”
SH Deut. 6:4

SH Ps. 27:4
4 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.
SH Gal. 3:26

SH Acts 17:24, 26
24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; 26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
SH Col. 1:12, 17
12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
SH John 8:28
28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
SH John 10:30, 38 1st that
30 I and my Father are one. 38 …that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
SH John 15:1, 4, 16
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
SH Ps. 55:22, 23 1st I
22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. 23 …I will trust in thee.
SH Eph. 4:13
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
SH 309:24-26
The Science of being shows it to be impossible for in-
finite Spirit or Soul to be in a finite body or for man to
have an intelligence separate from his Maker.
SH 42:19-20
The belief that man has existence or mind separate from
God is a dying error.
SH 205:32-3
When we fully understand our relation to the Divine,
we can have no other Mind but His, – no other Love,
wisdom, or Truth, no other sense of Life, and no con-
sciousness of the existence of matter or error.
SH 468:10-11
All is infinite Mind and its infinite
manifestation, for God is All-in-all.
SH 522:10-11
Existence, separate from divinity, Science
explains as impossible.
SH 467:9-10
It should be thoroughly understood that all men have one
Mind, one God and Father, one Life, Truth, and Love.
SH 469:30-5
With
one Father, even God, the whole family of man would
be brethren; and with one Mind and that God, or good,
the brotherhood of man would consist of Love and Truth,
and have unity of Principle and spiritual power which
constitute divine Science.
SH 502:22-27
1. In the beginning God created the heaven
and the earth.
The infinite has no beginning. This word beginning
is employed to signify the only, – that is, the eternal ver-
ity and unity of God and man, including
the universe.
SH 480:10-12
Consciousness, as well as action, is governed
by Mind, – is in God, the origin and gov-
ernor of all that Science reveals.
SH 18:3-5
Jesus of Nazareth taught and demonstrated
man’s oneness with the Father, and for this we owe him
endless homage.
SH 136:1-2, 5-6
Jesus established his church and maintained his mission
on a spiritual foundation of Christ-healing.
He claimed no intelli-
gence, action, nor life separate from God.
SH 51:12
Jesus could give his temporal life into his
enemies’ hands; but when his earth-mission was accom-
plished, his spiritual life, indestructible and eternal,
was found forever the same. He knew that matter had
no life and that real Life is God; therefore he could no
more be separated from his spiritual Life than God could
be extinguished.
SH 303:28-30
Spiritual man is the image or idea of
God, an idea which cannot be lost nor sep-
arated from its divine Principle.
SH 267:3-6
The offspring of God start not from matter
or ephemeral dust. They are in and of Spirit,
divine Mind, and so forever continue. God is one. The
allness of Deity is His oneness.
SH 515:16-20
The eternal Elohim includes the forever universe.
The name Elohim is in the plural, but this plurality of
Spirit does not imply more than one God, nor
does it imply three persons in one. It relates
to the oneness, the triunity of Life, Truth, and Love.
SH 548:2-5
Christian
Science separates error from truth, and breathes
through the sacred pages the spiritual sense of
life, substance, and intelligence.
SH 264:15-19
When we
realize that Life is Spirit, never in nor of
matter, this understanding will expand into self-com-
pleteness, finding all in God, good, and needing no other
consciousness.
SH 577:9-11
In this divinely united spiritual consciousness, there is no
impediment to eternal bliss, – to the perfectibility of
God’s creation.
SH 519:17-21
How shall we declare Him, till,
in the language of the apostle, “we all come in the unity
of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto
a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the ful-
ness of Christ”?
