- KJV Gal 1:1-3, 11-12
- 1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;) 2 And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia: 3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, 11 …I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. 12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
- KJV Gal 2:16
- 16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
- KJV Gal 3:1-3, 7, 26-28
- 1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? 2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? 7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
- KJV Gal 5:6
- 6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
- KJV Gal 6:16
- 16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.
- KJV I Cor 3:16
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? - Acts 2:1-4, 14 (to them,) 39
- … when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. … Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, … the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
- KJV II Cor 6:16
- 16 … what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
- KJV Eph 3:1, 14-19 1st bow
- 1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, 14 …bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
- S&H 520:3-5
- Unfathomable Mind is expressed. The depth, breadth,
height, might, majesty, and glory of infinite Love fill all
space.
- S&H 428:6
- Man’s privilege at this supreme
moment is to prove the words of our Master: “If a man
keep my saying, he shall never see death.” To divest
thought of false trusts and material evidences in order
that the spiritual facts of being may appear, – this is
the great attainment by means of which we shall sweep
away the false and give place to the true. Thus we may
establish in truth the temple, or body, “whose builder
and maker is God.
- S&H 595:7-9 (to Love
- TEMPLE. Body; the idea of Life, substance, and in-
telligence; the superstructure of Truth; the shrine of
Love;
- S&H 27:10
- That Life is God, Jesus proved by his reappearance
after the crucifixion in strict accordance with his scien-
tific statement: “Destroy this temple [body],
and in three days I [Spirit] will raise it up.”
It is as if he had said: The I – the Life, substance,
and intelligence of the universe – is not in matter to
be destroyed.
- S&H 45:32-4
- Jesus’ students, not sufficiently advanced fully to un-
derstand their Master’s triumph, did not perform many
wonderful works, until they saw him after his crucifixion
and learned that he had not died. This convinced them
of the truthfulness of all that he had taught.
- S&H 46:13-17, 30-9
- The Master said plainly that physique was not Spirit,
and after his resurrection he proved to the physical senses
that his body was not changed until he himself
ascended, – or, in other words, rose even
higher in the understanding of Spirit, God.
His students then received the Holy Ghost. By this is
meant, that by all they had witnessed and suffered, they
were roused to an enlarged understanding of divine Sci-
ence, even to the spiritual interpretation and discernment
of Jesus’ teachings and demonstrations, which gave them
a faint conception of the Life which is God.
They no longer measured man by material
sense. After gaining the true idea of their glorified Master,
they became better healers, leaning no longer on matter,
but on the divine Principle of their work. The influx of
light was sudden. It was sometimes an overwhelming
power as on the Day of Pentecost.
- S&H 325:20-24
- Paul had a clear sense of the demands of Truth upon
mortals physically and spiritually, when he said: “Pre-
sent your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, ac-
ceptable unto God, which is your reasonable
service.
- S&H 487:25-26, 30-1
- The Apostle James said, “Show me thy faith without
thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works.
This faith relies upon an understood Principle. This
Principle makes whole the diseased, and brings out the
enduring and harmonious phases of things.
- S&H 209:31-10
- Spiritual sense is a conscious, constant capacity to un-
derstand God. It shows the superiority of faith by works
over faith in words. Its ideas are expressed only in “new
tongues;” and these are interpreted by the translation of
the spiritual original into the language which human
thought can comprehend.
The Principle and proof of Christianity are discerned
by spiritual sense. They are set forth in Jesus’ demon-
strations, which show – by his healing the
sick, casting out evils, and destroying death,
“the last enemy that shall be destroyed,” –
his disregard of matter and its so-called laws.
- S&H 107:1-3
- In the year 1866, I discovered the Christ Science or
divine laws of Life, Truth, and Love, and
named my discovery Christian Science.
- S&H 227:3
- I saw that the law of mortal belief included all error,
and that, even as oppressive laws are disputed and mor-
tals are taught their right to freedom, so the
claims of the enslaving senses must be de-
nied and superseded. The law of the divine Mind must
end human bondage, or mortals will continue unaware
of man’s inalienable rights and in subjection to hope-
less slavery, because some public teachers permit
an ignorance of divine power, – an ignorance that
is the foundation of continued bondage and of human
suffering.
- S&H 192:30
- Whatever holds human thought in line with unselfed
love, receives directly the divine power.
- S&H 387:27
- The history of Christianity furnishes sublime proofs
of the supporting influence and protecting power bestowed
on man by his heavenly Father, omnipotent
Mind, who gives man faith and understanding
whereby to defend himself, not only from temptation, but
from bodily suffering. - 572:12-15 (to Apocalypse)
- Love fulfils the law of Christian Science, and nothing short of this divine Principle, understood and demonstrated, can ever furnish the vision of the Apocalypse,
- S&H 573:13-17
- Accompanying this scientific consciousness was an-
other revelation, even the declaration from heaven, su-
preme harmony, that God, the divine Principle
of harmony, is ever with men, and they are
His people.
