KJV Jeremiah 32:36 (to 1st Lord), 39-41
36 …thus saith the LORD,  39 …I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them: 40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me. 41 Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.
KJV Ps 91:1, 11
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
KJV Gen 9:9, 10, 12 1st for, 15 (to 1st flesh;), 16 1st second the
9 …behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you; 10 And with every living creature that is with you, 12 …for perpetual generations: 15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; 16 …the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
KJV Exodus 19:5, 6 (to 1st nation.)
5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: 6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation.
KJV Exodus 33:14 1st My
14 …My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
KJV I Kings 8:22, 23, 54-61
22 And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven: 23 And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart: 54 And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven. 55 And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying, 56 Blessed be the LORD, …there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant. 57 The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us: 58 That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers. 59 And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before the LORD, be nigh unto the LORD our God day and night, that he maintain the cause of his servant, … 60 That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else. 61 Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.
KJV Ps 25:10
10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
KJV Ps 33:12

KJV Ps 84:11 1st second the
11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
KJV Isaiah 28:15-18 (to 1st stand;)
15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: 16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. 17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. 18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand;
KJV Jer 31:31-34
31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
KJV Jer 50:5 1st Come, 6
5 …Come, and let us join ourselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten. 6 My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.
KJV I John 2:23, 24
23 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. 24 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
KJV I John 3:2 (to 1st God,)
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God,
KJV Gal 3:26-29
26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
KJV II Cor 6:16
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
KJV Heb 10:16
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
KJV Acts 13:32, 33 (to 1st again;)
32 And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers, 33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again;
KJV Acts 2:39
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.
KJV Matt 5:8
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

S&H 241:24
We
should strive to reach the Horeb height where God is re-
vealed; and the corner-stone of all spiritual building is
purity. The baptism of Spirit, washing the body of all
the impurities of flesh, signifies that the pure in heart
see God and are approaching spiritual Life and its
demonstration.
S&H 272:19-25
It is the spiritualization of thought and Christianization
of daily life, in contrast with the results of the ghastly farce
of material existence; it is chastity and purity,
in contrast with the downward tendencies
and earthward gravitation of sensualism and impurity,
which really attest the divine origin and operation of Chris-
tian Science.
S&H 99:23
The calm, strong currents of true spirituality, the
manifestations of which are health, purity, and self-
immolation, must deepen human experience, until the
beliefs of material existence are seen to be a bald imposi-
tion, and sin, disease, and death give everlasting place
to the scientific demonstration of divine Spirit and to
God’s spiritual, perfect man.
S&H 125:12-16
As human thought changes from one stage to an-
other of conscious pain and painlessness, sorrow and
joy, – from fear to hope and from faith to understand-
ing, – the visible manifestation will at last be man gov-
erned by Soul, not by material sense.
S&H 467:29-32
Reasoning from cause to effect in the Science of Mind,
we begin with Mind, which must be under-
stood through the idea which expresses it and
cannot be learned from its opposite, matter.
S&H 328:20-25, 27 only, 30-31
Under-
standing spiritual law and knowing that there is no mate-
rial law, Jesus said: “These signs shall follow them that
believe, . . . they shall take up serpents, and if they
drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them. They
shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Jesus’ promise is perpetual.
The purpose of his great life-work
extends through time and includes universal humanity.
S&H 313:24-26
He plunged beneath the material
surface of things, and found the spiritual
cause.
S&H 18:3-9
Jesus of Nazareth taught and demonstrated
man’s oneness with the Father, and for this we owe him
endless homage. His mission was both in-
dividual and collective. He did life’s work
aright not only in justice to himself, but in mercy to
mortals,- to show them how to do theirs, but not to do
it for them nor to relieve them of a single responsibility.
S&H 207:20-23
There is but one primal cause. Therefore there can
be no effect from any other cause, and there can be no
reality in aught which does not proceed from
this great and only cause.
S&H 262:30-32
Divine Mind is the only cause
or Principle of existence. Cause does not exist in matter,
in mortal mind, or in physical forms.
S&H 151:20-21, 26-28
Every function of the
real man is governed by the divine Mind.
All that really exists is the divine Mind and
its idea, and in this Mind the entire being is found har-
monious and eternal.
S&H 371:27-30
The necessity for uplifting the race is father to
the fact that Mind can do it; for Mind can impart
purity instead of impurity, strength instead of weak-
ness, and health instead of disease.
S&H 330:25
III. The notion that both evil and good are real is a
delusion of material sense, which Science annihilates.
Evil is nothing, no thing, mind, nor power.
As manifested by mankind it stands for a lie,
nothing claiming to be something, – for lust, dishonesty,
selfishness, envy, hypocrisy, slander, hate, theft, adultery,
murder, dementia, insanity, inanity, devil, hell, with all
the etceteras that word includes.
S&H 331:1-3, 11-13 (to ideas.), 20-22
IV. God is divine Life, and Life is no more confined
to the forms which reflect it than substance is in its
shadow.
…nothing possesses reality nor existence
except the divine Mind and His ideas.
He is all-
inclusive, and is reflected by all that is real
and eternal and by nothing else.
S&H 303:25-30
God, without the image and likeness of Himself, would
be a nonentity, or Mind unexpressed. He would be
without a witness or proof of His own na-
ture. Spiritual man is the image or idea of
God, an idea which cannot be lost nor sep-
arated from its divine Principle.
S&H 275:10-17
To grasp the reality and order of being in its Science,
you must begin by reckoning God as the divine Principle
of all that really is. Spirit, Life, Truth, Love,
combine as one, – and are the Scriptural names
for God. All substance, intelligence, wisdom, being, im-
mortality, cause, and effect belong to God. These are
His attributes, the eternal manifestations of the infinite
divine Principle, Love.
S&H 304:9-14
This is the doctrine of Christian
Science: that divine Love cannot be deprived of its
manifestation, or object; that joy cannot be turned into
sorrow, for sorrow is not the master of joy; that good can
never produce evil; that matter can never produce mind
nor life result in death.
S&H 244:19
If man flickers out in death or springs from matter into
being, there must be an instant when God is without His
entire manifestation, – when there is no full reflection
of the infinite Mind.
S&H 497:24-27
6. And we solemnly promise to watch, and pray for
that Mind to be in us which was also in Christ Jesus; to
do unto others as we would have them do unto us; and
to be merciful, just, and pure.
S&H 55:21-22
The promises will be ful-
filled.

KJV Matt 13:34
34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:
KJV Matt 25:14-29
14…the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. 15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. 16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. 17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. 18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money. 19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. 20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. 21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. 22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. 23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. 24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. 26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: 27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. 28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. 29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
KJV Matt 10:1, 5 (to 1st instructions:), 7, 8, 16, 17, 19, 20, 26
1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. 5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, …7 … as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. 16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. 17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; 19 But when they deliver you
up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. 20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. 26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
KJV John 3:1-8
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
KJV John 15:6
6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
KJV II Corinthians 3:2-6
2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: 3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. 4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: 5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; 6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
KJV Galatians 5:13, 14, 16 (to 1st Spirit,), 22-23, 25
13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit,… 22 … the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
KJV Galatians 6:9-10
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. 10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men,

S&H 497:3
1. As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word
of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life.
S&H 319:21-23
The divine Science taught in the original language
of the Bible came through inspiration, and needs inspi-
ration to be understood.
S&H 136:32
Jesus patiently persisted in
teaching and demonstrating the truth of being. His stu-
dents saw this power of Truth heal the sick, cast out evil,
raise the dead; but the ultimate of this wonderful work
was not spiritually discerned, even by them, until after the
crucifixion, when their immaculate Teacher stood before
them, the victor over sickness, sin, disease, death, and
the grave.
S&H 34:18-20, 21-23
Through all the disciples experienced, they became more
spiritual and understood better what the Master had
taught.
It helped them to raise themselves and
others from spiritual dulness and blind belief in God into
the perception of infinite possibilities.
S&H 332:9 Christ, 10-11
Christ is the true idea
voicing good, the divine message from God to men speak-
ing to the human consciousness.
S&H 520:5-7
Human language
can repeat only an infinitesimal part of what
exists.
S&H 234:4
Whatever inspires with wisdom, Truth, or Love – be
it song, sermon, or Science – blesses the human family
with crumbs of comfort from Christ’s table
feeding the hungry and giving living waters to
the thirsty.
S&H 447:1-5
The heavenly law is broken by trespassing upon
man’s individual right of self-government. We have no
authority in Christian Science and no moral
right to attempt to influence the thoughts of
others, except it be to benefit them.
S&H 8:14-18
If we feel the aspiration, hu-
mility, gratitude, and love which our words express,-
this God accepts; and it is wise not to try to deceive
ourselves or others, for “there is nothing covered that
shall not be revealed.
S&H 367:3
The tender word and Christian
encouragement of an invalid, pitiful patience
with his fears and the removal of them, are better than
hecatombs of gushing theories, stereotyped borrowed
speeches, and the doling of arguments, which are but so
many parodies on legitimate Christian Science, aflame
with divine Love.
S&H 548:12
Earth has little light or joy for mortals before
Life is spiritually learned. Every agony of mortal error
helps error to destroy error, and so aids the apprehension
of immortal Truth. This is the new birth going on
hourly, by which men may entertain angels, the true
ideas of God, the spiritual sense of being.
S&H 5:3-6
Sorrow for wrong-doing is but one step towards reform
and the very easiest step. The next and great step re-
quired by wisdom is the test of our sincerity,
– namely, reformation.
S&H 78:28
Spirit blesses man, but man cannot “tell whence
it cometh.” By it the sick are healed, the sorrowing are
comforted, and the sinning are reformed. These are the
effects of one universal God, the invisible good dwelling
in eternal Science.
S&H 117:6-7, 10-23
God is Spirit; therefore the language of Spirit must
be, and is, spiritual.
God’s essential language is spoken of in the last
chapter of Mark’s Gospel as the new tongue, the spir-
itual meaning of which is attained through “signs
following.”
Ear hath not heard, nor hath lip spoken, the pure lan-
guage of Spirit. Our Master taught spirituality by simili-
tudes and parables. As a divine student he
unfolded God to man, illustrating and demon-
strating Life and Truth in himself and by his power over
the sick and sinning. Human theories are inadequate to
interpret the divine Principle involved in the miracles
(marvels) wrought by Jesus and especially in his mighty,
crowning, unparalleled, and triumphant exit from the
flesh.
S&H 150:4-6, 10 but
To-day the healing power of Truth is widely demon-
strated as an immanent, eternal Science, instead of a
phenomenal exhibition.
but the mission of Christian
Science now, as in the time of its earlier demonstration,
is not primarily one of physical healing. Now, as then,
signs and wonders are wrought in the metaphysical heal-
ing of physical disease; but these signs are only to demon-
strate its divine origin, – to attest the reality of the higher
mission of the Christ-power to take away the sins of the
world.
S&H 460:24
When the Science of Mind was a fresh revelation to
the author, she had to impart, while teaching its grand
facts, the hue of spiritual ideas from her own
spiritual condition, and she had to do this orally
through the meagre channel afforded by language and by
her manuscript circulated among the students. As for-
mer beliefs were gradually expelled from her thought, the
teaching became clearer, until finally the shadow of old
errors was no longer cast upon divine Science.
S&H 461:9
Only by the illumination of the spiritual sense, can
the light of understanding be thrown upon this Science,
because Science reverses the evidence before the material
senses and furnishes the eternal interpretation of God and
man.
S&H 475:11-13
Man is spiritual and perfect; and be-
cause he is spiritual and perfect, he must be so under-
stood in Christian Science.
S&H 476:21-22, 28-2
Learn this, O mortal, and earnestly seek the spiritual
status of man, which is outside of all material selfhood.
When speaking of God’s children, not the children of
men, Jesus said, “The kingdom of God is within you;”
that is, Truth and Love reign in the real
man, showing that man in God’s image is
unfallen and eternal. Jesus beheld in Science the per-
fect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal
man appears to mortals.
S&H 497:24-27
6. And we solemnly promise to watch, and pray for
that Mind to be in us which was also in Christ Jesus; to
do unto others as we would have them do unto us; and
to be merciful, just, and pure.

KJV John 15:1-13
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. 9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. 11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. 12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
KJV Luke 24:30, 31, 35
30 And it came to pass, as he (Jesus) sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. 31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. 35 And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.

KJV Acts 2:42-47 (to 1st people.)
42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. 44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common; 45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people.
KJV Acts 3:1-9
1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. 2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; 3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. 4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. 5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. 7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
KJV I Corinthians 10:16 2nd The, 17
16…The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? 17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
KJV Prov 27:17
17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
KJV Prov 17:17
17 A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
KJV Romans 12:3-6 (to 1st us)
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us,
KJV I Corinthians 12:25-27
25 …there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. 26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. 27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
KJV Ephesians 4:4-6
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

S&H 32:15-17, 21-23
“As they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed
it and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said,
Take, eat; this is my body.
The disciples
had eaten, yet Jesus prayed and gave them
bread.
S&H 33:3-8
His followers, sorrowful and silent, anticipating the hour
of their Master’s betrayal, partook of the heavenly manna,
which of old had fed in the wilderness the
persecuted followers of Truth. Their bread
indeed came down from heaven. It was the great truth
of spiritual being, healing the sick and casting out error.
S&H 34:10-13, 18-20, 21-23
If all who ever partook of the sacrament had really
commemorated the sufferings of Jesus and drunk of
his cup, they would have revolutionized the
world.
Through all the disciples experienced, they became more
spiritual and understood better what the Master had
taught.
It helped them to raise themselves and
others from spiritual dulness and blind belief in God into
the perception of infinite possibilities.
S&H 52:19-23
The “man of sorrows” best understood the nothing-
ness of material life and intelligence and the mighty ac-
tuality of all-inclusive God, good. These were
the two cardinal points of Mind-healing, or
Christian Science, which armed him with Love.
S&H 53:8
The reputation of Jesus was the very opposite of his
character. Why? Because the divine Principle and
practice of Jesus were misunderstood. He
was at work in divine Science. His words
and works were unknown to the world because above
and contrary to the world’s religious sense. Mortals be-
lieved in God as humanly mighty, rather than as divine,
infinite Love.
S&H 102:30-5 (craftiness.)
Mankind must learn that evil is not power. Its so-
called despotism is but a phase of nothingness. Christian
Science despoils the kingdom of evil, and pre-eminently
promotes affection and virtue in families and therefore
in the community. The Apostle Paul refers to the
personification of evil as “the god of this
world,” and further defines it as dishonesty
and craftiness.
S&H 303:30-2
When the evidence
before the material senses yielded to spiritual sense, the
apostle declared that nothing could alienate him from
God, from the sweet sense and presence of Life and
Truth.
S&H 136:29-9
The disciples apprehended their Master better than
did others; but they did not comprehend all
that he said and did, or they would not have
questioned him so often. Jesus patiently persisted in
teaching and demonstrating the truth of being. His stu-
dents saw this power of Truth heal the sick, cast out evil,
raise the dead; but the ultimate of this wonderful work
was not spiritually discerned, even by them, until after the
crucifixion, when their immaculate Teacher stood before
them, the victor over sickness, sin, disease, death, and
the grave.
Yearning to be understood, the Master repeated,
“But whom say ye that I am?
S&H 137:16-18
With his usual impetuosity, Simon replied for his
brethren, and his reply set forth a great fact: “Thou
art the Christ, the Son of the living God!”
S&H 138:6-9, 14-22, 27-31
It was now evident to Peter that divine Life, Truth, and
Love, and not a human personality, was the healer of the
sick and a rock, a firm foundation in the realm
of harmony.
The supremacy of Spirit was the foundation on which
Jesus built. His sublime summary points to the religion
of Love.
Jesus established in the Christian era the precedent for
all Christianity, theology, and healing. Christians are
under as direct orders now, as they were then,
to be Christlike, to possess the Christ-spirit, to
follow the Christ-example, and to heal the sick as well as
the sinning.
Our Master said to every follower: “Go ye into all the
world, and preach the gospel to every creature! . . .
Heal the sick! . . . Love thy neighbor as
thyself!” It was this theology of Jesus which
healed the sick and the sinning.
S&H 182:32-4
The law of Christ, or
Truth, makes all things possible to Spirit; but the so-
called laws of matter would render Spirit of no avail, and
demand obedience to materialistic codes, thus departing
from the basis of one God, one lawmaker.
S&H 276:4-14
When the divine precepts
are understood, they unfold the foundation of fellowship,
in which one mind is not at war with another, but all have
one Spirit, God, one intelligent source, in accordance with
the Scriptural command: “Let this Mind be in you,
which was also in Christ Jesus.” Man and his Maker
are correlated in divine Science, and real consciousness
is cognizant only of the things of God.
The realization that all inharmony is unreal brings
objects and thoughts into human view in their true light,
and presents them as beautiful and immortal.
S&H 340:23
One infinite God, good, unifies men and nations; con-
stitutes the brotherhood of man; ends wars; fulfils the
Scripture, “Love thy neighbor as thyself;” annihilates
pagan and Christian idolatry, – whatever is wrong in
social, civil, criminal, political, and religious codes;
equalizes the sexes; annuls the curse on man, and leaves
nothing that can sin, suffer, be punished or destroyed.
S&H 469:30-5
With
one Father, even God, the whole family of man would
be brethren; and with one Mind and that God, or good,
the brotherhood of man would consist of Love and Truth,
and have unity of Principle and spiritual power which
constitute divine Science.
S&H 518:15-19
The rich in spirit help the poor in
one grand brotherhood, all having the same
Principle, or Father; and blessed is that man who seeth
his brother’s need and supplieth it, seeking his own in
another’s good.
S&H 467:3-4, 7-15
The first demand of this Science is, “Thou
shalt have no other gods before me.
The second
is like unto it, “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.”
It should be thoroughly understood that all men have one
Mind, one God and Father, one Life, Truth, and Love.
Mankind will become perfect in proportion as this fact
becomes apparent, war will cease and the true brother-
hood of man will be established. Having no other gods,
turning to no other but the one perfect Mind to guide
him, man is the likeness of God, pure and eternal, hav-
ing that Mind which was also in Christ.

The steady gain of man

From first line of hymn 451, the steady gain of man.
First Church of Christ, Scientist, Asheville, NC, January 13, 2016
KJV Matt 4:23 1st Jesus (to 1st kingdom)
23 …Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom,
KJV Matt 5:17, 21, 22, 23, 24
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; …22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment:… 23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
KJV Matt 6:12 1st forgive
12 …forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
KJV Ps 19:7-13
7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. …cleanse thou me from secret faults. 13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
KJV Ps 37:23
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
KJV Luke 5:18-26 (to 1st God)
18 …behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him. 19 And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus. 20 And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee. 21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone? 22 But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts? 23 Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk? 24 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house. 25 And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God. 26 And they were all amazed, and they glorified God,
KJV John 8:3-11
3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, 4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? 6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. 7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. 8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. 9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
KJV Romans 2:1
1 …thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
KJV Romans 6:14
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you:
KJV I John 2:7-12
7 …a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. 8 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. 9 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. 10 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. 11 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake. 12 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.
KJV I John 5:4, 6 1st it, 9
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 6 …it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. 9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
KJV John 8:12-16
12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. 13 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true. 14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go. 15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man. 16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
KJV Isaiah 43:10, 12 1st ye
10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. 12 …ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.
S&H 192:17
Moral and spiritual might belong to Spirit, who holds
the “wind in His fists;” and this teaching accords with
Science and harmony. In Science, you can
have no power opposed to God, and the physi-
cal senses must give up their false testimony. Your in-
fluence for good depends upon the weight you throw into
the right scale. The good you do and embody gives you
the only power obtainable. Evil is not power. It is a
mockery of strength, which erelong betrays its weakness
and falls, never to rise.
S&H 122:1-9 (to Jesus;)
The evidence of the physical senses often reverses the
real Science of being, and so creates a reign of discord, –
assigning seeming power to sin, sickness, and
death; but the great facts of Life, rightly un-
derstood, defeat this triad of errors, contradict their false
witnesses, and reveal the kingdom of heaven, – the actual
reign of harmony on earth. The material senses’ re-
versal of the Science of Soul was practically exposed nine-
teen hundred years ago by the demonstrations of Jesus;
S&H 233:1
Every day makes its demands upon us for
higher proofs rather than professions of Christian power.
These proofs consist solely in the destruction
of sin, sickness, and death by the power of
Spirit, as Jesus destroyed them. This is an element of
progress, and progress is the law of God, whose law de-
mands of us only what we can certainly fulfil.
S&H 296:4 only
Progress is born of experience.
S&H 329:7
Because you cannot walk on the
water and raise the dead, you have no right to
question the great might of divine Science in these direc-
tions. Be thankful that Jesus, who was the true demon-
strator of Science, did these things, and left his example for
us. In Science we can use only what we understand. We
must prove our faith by demonstration.
S&H 326:23
Saul of Tarsus beheld the way – the Christ, or Truth
– only when his uncertain sense of right yielded to a
spiritual sense, which is always right. Then
the man was changed. Thought assumed a
nobler outlook, and his life became more spiritual. He
learned the wrong that he had done in persecuting Chris-
tians, whose religion he had not understood, and in hu-
mility he took the new name of Paul. He beheld for the
first time the true idea of Love, and learned a lesson in
divine Science.
S&H 327:23-24
Moral courage is requisite to meet the wrong and to
proclaim the right.
S&H 381:24
The har-
mony and immortality of man will never be reached
without the understanding that Mind is not in matter.
Let us banish sickness as an outlaw, and abide by the
rule of perpetual harmony, – God’s law. It is man’s
moral right to annul an unjust sentence, a sentence never
inflicted by divine authority.
S&H 11:1
Jesus’ prayer,
“Forgive us our debts,” specified also the terms of
forgiveness. When forgiving the adulterous woman he
said, “Go, and sin no more.”
S&H 475:28-1
The
real man cannot depart from holiness, nor
can God, by whom man is evolved, engender
the capacity or freedom to sin. A mortal sinner is not
God’s man.
S&H 447:30-32
A sinner is afraid to cast the first stone. He may
say, as a subterfuge, that evil is unreal, but to know it,
he must demonstrate his statement.
S&H 446:11-15, 18-25
Whoever practises the Science the author teaches,
through which Mind pours light and healing upon this
generation, can practise on no one from sin-
ister or malicious motives without destroying
his own power to heal and his own health.
A wrong motive involves defeat. In the Science
of Mind-healing, it is imperative to be honest, for victory
rests on the side of immutable right. To understand
God strengthens hope, enthrones faith in Truth, and
verifies Jesus’ word: “Lo, I am with you alway, even
unto the end of the world.”
Resisting evil, you overcome it and prove its nothing-
ness.
S&H 447:16-27
When sin or sickness –
the reverse of harmony – seems true to material sense,
impart without frightening or discouraging the pa-
tient the truth and spiritual understanding, which de-
stroy disease. Expose and denounce the claims of
evil and disease in all their forms, but realize no
reality in them. A sinner is not reformed merely
by assuring him that he cannot be a sinner because
there is no sin. To put down the claim of sin,
you must detect it, remove the mask, point out the
illusion, and thus get the victory over sin and so prove
its unreality.
S&H 453:16-20
Honesty is spiritual power. Dishonesty is
human weakness, which forfeits divine help.
You uncover sin, not in order to injure, but in order
to bless the corporeal man; and a right motive has
its reward.
S&H 454:19-21
Right motives
give pinions to thought, and strength and freedom to
speech and action.
S&H 113:5-6
The vital part,
the heart and soul of Christian Science, is Love.
S&H 390:32-4
Rise in the conscious strength of the
spirit of Truth to overthrow the plea of mortal mind,
alias matter, arrayed against the supremacy of Spirit.
Blot out the images of mortal thought and its beliefs in
sickness and sin.
S&H 492:7-13, 14-17
Being is holiness, harmony, immortality. It is already
proved that a knowledge of this, even in small degree,
will uplift the physical and moral standard
of mortals, will increase longevity, will purify
and elevate character. Thus progress will finally destroy
all error, and bring immortality to light. We know that
a statement proved to be good must be correct.
These two
contradictory theories – that matter is something, or
that all is Mind – will dispute the ground, until one is
acknowledged to be the victor.
S&H 521:12 only
The harmony and immortality of man are intact.

14 …Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick. 22 And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. 23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. 24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. 25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. 27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. 28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. 31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? 32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
KJV Luke 17:20 1st he answered, 21
20 …he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: 21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
KJV John 10:27-30
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and my Father are one.
KJV John 14:27 (to 1st you:)

KJV Philippians 2:5, 6

KJV Matt 18:20

KJV Matt 28:18 (to 1st saying,), 20 1st lo
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, 20 …lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

S&H 12:31
In divine
Science, where prayers are mental, all may avail them-
selves of God as “a very present help in trouble.”
Love is impartial and universal in its adaptation and
bestowals. It is the open fount which cries, “Ho,
every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters.”
S&H 200:9-13, 16
Life is, always
has been, and ever will be independent of
matter; for life is God, and man is the idea
of God, not formed materially but spiritually, and not
subject to decay and dust.
The great truth in the Science of being, that the real
man was, is, and ever shall be perfect, is incontrovertible;
for if man is the image, reflection, of God, he is neither
inverted nor subverted, but upright and Godlike.
S&H 107:7-10
This apodictical Principle points to the revelation of
Immanuel, “God with us,” – the sovereign ever-pres-
ence, delivering the children of men from
every ill “that flesh is heir to.”
S&H xi:9-21
The physical healing of Christian Science results
now, as in Jesus’ time, from the operation of divine
Principle, before which sin and disease lose their real-
ity in human consciousness and disappear as naturally
and as necessarily as darkness gives place to light and
sin to reformation. Now, as then, these mighty works
are not supernatural, but supremely natural. They are
the sign of Immanuel, or “God with us,” a divine
influence ever present in human consciousness and re-
peating itself, coming now as was promised aforetime,
To preach deliverance to the captives [of sense],
And recovering of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty them that are bruised.
S&H 34:5-8 (to us;)
If Christ,
Truth, has come to us in demonstration, no other com-
memoration is requisite, for demonstration is Immanuel,
or God with us;
S&H 14:1-15
If we are sensibly with the body and regard omnipo-
tence as a corporeal, material person, whose ear we
would gain, we are not “absent from the
body” and “present with the Lord” in the
demonstration of Spirit. … To be “present with the Lord” is to have, not
mere emotional ecstasy or faith, but the actual demon-
stration and understanding of Life as revealed in
Christian Science. To be “with the Lord” is to be in
obedience to the law of God, to be absolutely governed
by divine Love,- by Spirit, not by matter.
Become conscious for a single moment that Life and
intelligence are purely spiritual, – neither in nor of
matter, – and the body will then utter no
complaints.
S&H 216:28-1
When you say, “Man’s body is material,” I say with
Paul: Be “willing rather to be absent from the body,
and to be present with the Lord.” Give up
your material belief of mind in matter, and
have but one Mind, even God; for this Mind forms its
own likeness.
S&H 243:9
But
the same “Mind . . . which was also in Christ Jesus”
must always accompany the letter of Science in order to
confirm and repeat the ancient demonstrations of prophets
and apostles. That those wonders are not more com-
monly repeated to-day, arises not so much from lack of
desire as from lack of spiritual growth.
S&H 135:1-8
The Psalmist sang: “What ailed
thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? Thou Jordan,
that thou wast driven back? Ye mountains,
that ye skipped like rams, and ye little hills,
like lambs? Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the
Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob.” The miracle
introduces no disorder, but unfolds the primal order,
establishing the Science of God’s unchangeable law.
S&H 275:20
Divine metaphysics, as revealed to spiritual understand-
ing, shows clearly that all is Mind, and that Mind is
God, omnipotence, omnipresence, omniscience,
– that is, all power, all presence, all Science.
Hence all is in reality the manifestation of Mind.
S&H 325:13-15
When spiritual being is understood in all its
perfection, continuity, and might, then shall man be found
in God’s image.
S&H 332:11-15, 19
The Christ
is incorporeal, spiritual, – yea, the divine
image and likeness, dispelling the illusions of the senses;
the Way, the Truth, and the Life, healing the sick and
casting out evils, destroying sin, disease, and death.
X. Jesus demonstrated Christ; he proved that Christ
is the divine idea of God – the Holy Ghost,
or Comforter, revealing the divine Principle,
Love, and leading into all truth.
S&H 316:7
Christ, Truth,
was demonstrated through Jesus to prove the power of
Spirit over the flesh, – to show that Truth is made
manifest by its effects upon the human mind and body,
healing sickness and destroying sin.
S&H 333:16-23, 26-9
XIII. The advent of Jesus of Nazareth marked the
first century of the Christian era, but the Christ is
without beginning of years or end of days.
Throughout all generations both before and
after the Christian era, the Christ, as the spirit-
ual idea, – the reflection of God, – has come with some
measure of power and grace to all prepared to receive
Christ, Truth.
The divine image, idea, or Christ was, is, and
ever will be inseparable from the divine Principle, God.
Jesus referred to this unity of his spiritual identity thus:
“Before Abraham was, I am;” “I and my Father are
one;” “My Father is greater than I.” The one Spirit
includes all identities.
XIV. By these sayings Jesus meant, not that the hu-
man Jesus was or is eternal, but that the divine idea or
Christ was and is so and therefore antedated Abraham;
not that the corporeal Jesus was one with the
Father, but that the spiritual idea, Christ,
dwells forever in the bosom of the Father, God, from
which it illumines heaven and earth; not that the Father
is greater than Spirit, which is God, but greater, infinitely
greater, than the fleshly Jesus, whose earthly career was
brief.
S&H 473:7-12
The God-
principle is omnipresent and omnipotent. God is every-
where, and nothing apart from Him is present or has
power. Christ is the ideal Truth, that comes to heal
sickness and sin through Christian Science, and attributes
all power to God.
S&H 361:4-5
Christ, as the true spiritual idea,
is the ideal of God now and forever, here and everywhere.

KJV Gen 4:1 (to 1st Cain,), 2 (to 1st Abel.), 3-5, 8, 16 (to 1st Lord,)
1 …Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, 2 And she again bare his brother Abel. 3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. 4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. 8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. 16 And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD,
KJV Isaiah 59:1-4, 7, 8, 21
1 Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: 2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. 3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. 4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity. 7 Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. 8 The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace. 21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.
KJV Isaiah 60:1, 2, 4 (to 1st see:)
1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. 2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. 4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see:
KJV Isaiah 60:18, 19
18 Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise. 19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.
KJV Isaiah 61:1, 2 (to 1st Lord,), 2 2nd to
1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, … to comfort all that mourn;

KJV Acts 9:1, 2
1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, 2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
KJV Acts 21:39 (to 1st Tarsus,), 39 2nd I
39 But Paul said, I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, 39 …I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people.
KJV Acts 22:1, 4-6
1 Men, brethren, and fathers, hear ye my defence which I make now unto you. 4 … I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women. 5 As also the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem, for to be punished. 6 And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.
KJV Acts 26:12, 14-16
12 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? 14 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; 15 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, 16 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
KJV Philippians 2:5

KJV Ephesians 4:32

KJV Matt 7:24-27

KJV Matt 7:12
12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
KJV John 16:31 (to 1st them,), 33
31 Jesus answered them, 33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
KJV Romans 12:21
21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

S&H 82:31-2
In a world of sin and sensuality hastening to a
greater development of power, it is wise earnestly to
consider whether it is the human mind or the divine
Mind which is influencing one.
S&H 83:6-9
Science only can explain the incredible good and evil
elements now coming to the surface. Mortals must find
refuge in Truth in order to escape the error of these latter
days.
S&H 91:5, 22-6
Let us rid ourselves of the belief that man is separated
from God, and obey only the divine principle, Life and
Love. Here is the great point of departure for all true
spiritual growth.
Certain erroneous postulates should be here considered
in order that the spiritual facts may be better
apprehended.
The first erroneous postulate of belief is, that substance,
life, and intelligence are something apart from God.
The second erroneous postulate is, that man is both
mental and material.
The third erroneous postulate is, that mind is both evil
and good; whereas the real Mind cannot be evil nor the
medium of evil, for Mind is God.
The fourth erroneous postulate is, that matter is in-
telligent, and that man has a material body which is part
of himself.
The fifth erroneous postulate is, that matter holds in
itself the issues of life and death, – that matter is not
only capable of experiencing pleasure and pain, but also
capable of imparting these sensations.
S&H 92:26
The foundation of evil is laid on a belief
in something besides God. This belief tends to support
two opposite powers, instead of urging the claims of Truth
alone. The mistake of thinking that error can be real,
when it is merely the absence of truth, leads to belief in
the superiority of error.
S&H 93:15-17
Good does not create a mind susceptible of causing
evil, for evil is the opposing error and not the truth of
creation.
S&H 94:14
Tyranny, intolerance, and bloodshed, wherever found,
arise from the belief that the infinite is formed after the
pattern of mortal personality, passion, and impulse.
S&H 539:3, 16-19, 24-25
Error begins by
reckoning life as separate from Spirit, thus sapping the
foundations of immortality, as if life and immortality
were something which matter can both give and take
away.
The Scriptures declare that God condemned this lie as
to man’s origin and character by condemning its symbol,
the serpent, to grovel beneath all the beasts
of the field.
Paul asked: “What com-
munion hath light with darkness?
S&H 541:16
The erroneous belief that life, substance, and intelli-
gence can be material ruptures the life and brotherhood
of man at the very outset.
S&H 540:28-31
Cain is the type of mortal and material man, conceived
in sin and “shapen in iniquity;” he is not the
type of Truth and Love. Material in origin
and sense, he brings a material offering to God.
S&H 95:5
Paul
said, “To be spiritually minded is life.” We approach
God, or Life, in proportion to our spirituality, our fidel-
ity to Truth and Love; and in that ratio we know all
human need and are able to discern the thought of the
sick and the sinning for the purpose of healing them.
Error of any kind cannot hide from the law of God.
S&H 103:18-23
As named in Christian Science, animal magnetism or
hypnotism is the specific term for error, or mortal mind.
It is the false belief that mind is in matter, and
is both evil and good; that evil is as real as
good and more powerful. This belief has not one qual-
ity of Truth.
S&H 450:27-5
Who, that has felt the perilous beliefs in life, substance,
and intelligence separated from God, can say that there
is no error of belief? Knowing the claim of
animal magnetism, that all evil combines in
the belief of life, substance, and intelligence in matter,
electricity, animal nature, and organic life, who will deny
that these are the errors which Truth must and will an-
nihilate? Christian Scientists must live under the con-
stant pressure of the apostolic command to come out from
the material world and be separate. They must re-
nounce aggression, oppression and the pride of power.
S&H 451:11
They must not only seek, but strive,
to enter the narrow path of Life, for “wide is the gate,
and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and
many there be which go in thereat.” Man walks in the
direction towards which he looks, and where his treasure
is, there will his heart be also. If our hopes and affec-
tions are spiritual, they come from above, not from be-
neath, and they bear as of old the fruits of the Spirit.
S&H 144:14-16, 18-20
Human will-power is not Science. Human will belongs
to the so-called material senses, and its use is to be con-
demned.
Human will-power may in-
fringe the rights of man. It produces evil continually,
and is not a factor in the realism of being.
S&H 151:24
The human
mind is opposed to God and must be put off, as St. Paul
declares. All that really exists is the divine Mind and
its idea, and in this Mind the entire being is found har-
monious and eternal. The straight and narrow way is to
see and acknowledge this fact, yield to this power, and
follow the leadings of truth.
S&H 454:9-10
Human hate has no legiti-
mate mandate and no kingdom. Love is enthroned.
S&H 458:23-24
The Christianly scientific man reflects the
divine law, thus becoming a law unto himself.

KJV I Samuel 3:1 1st the (to 1st Eli), 2-10
1 …the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. 2 And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see; 3 And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep; 4 That the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I. 5 And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down. 6 And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again. 7 Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him. 8 And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child. 9 Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place. 10 And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.
KJV Ps 139:1-14, 16 1st in, 17, 18, 23, 24
1 O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. 2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. 3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. 4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. 5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it. 7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? 8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. 9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; 10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. 11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. 12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. 13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. 16 …in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. 17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! 18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee. 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
KJV Acts 17:22 1st Paul, 23-28 (to 1st being;)
22 …Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. 23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. 24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; 25 Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; 26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; 27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: 28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being;

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
KJV Romans 8:9 1st ye
9 …ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.
KJV Ps 139:7-10
7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? 8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. 9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; 10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
S&H 91:5-7
Let us rid ourselves of the belief that man is separated
from God, and obey only the divine principle, Life and
Love.
S&H 473:7-10
The God-
principle is omnipresent and omnipotent. God is every-
where, and nothing apart from Him is present or has
power.
S&H 287:13
God
being everywhere and all-inclusive, how can He be absent
or suggest the absence of omnipresence and omnipotence?
How can there be more than all?
S&H 467:9-10, 13
It should be thoroughly understood that all men have one
Mind, one God and Father, one Life, Truth, and Love.
Having no other gods,
turning to no other but the one perfect Mind to guide
him, man is the likeness of God, pure and eternal, hav-
ing that Mind which was also in Christ.
S&H 516:4
The substance, Life, intelligence, Truth, and Love,
which constitute Deity, are reflected by His creation;
and when we subordinate the false testimony of the
corporeal senses to the facts of Science, we shall see
this true likeness and reflection everywhere.
S&H 90:24-25, 27-30
The admission to one’s self that man is God’s own like-
ness sets man free to master the infinite idea.
The understanding
and recognition of Spirit must finally come, and we may
as well improve our time in solving the mysteries of being
through an apprehension of divine Principle.
S&H 9:22
It involves the Science of Life, and recognizes only the
divine control of Spirit, in which Soul is our master,
and material sense and human will have no place.
S&H 400:28
Without divine control there is discord, mani-
fest as sin, sickness, and death.
S&H 544:16-17
All is under the control of the one Mind,
even God.
S&H 480:2-5
Where
the spirit of God is, and there is no place where God is
not, evil becomes nothing, – the opposite of the some-
thing of Spirit.
S&H 322:3-7
When understanding changes the standpoints of life and
intelligence from a material to a spiritual basis, we shall
gain the reality of Life, the control of Soul over
sense, and we shall perceive Christianity, or
Truth, in its divine Principle.
S&H 319:7
Having faith
in the divine Principle of Health and spiritually under-
standing God, sustains man under all circumstances;
whereas the lower appeal to the general faith in material
means (commonly called nature) must yield to the all-
might of infinite Spirit.
S&H 477:6-7
Man is not a material habitation for Soul; he is himself
spiritual.
S&H 577:12-19
This spiritual, holy habitation has no boundary
nor limit, but its four cardinal points are: first, the
Word of Life, Truth, and Love; second,
the Christ, the spiritual idea of God; third,
Christianity, which is the outcome of the divine Prin-
ciple of the Christ-idea in Christian history; fourth,
Christian Science, which to-day and forever interprets
this great example and the great Exemplar.
S&H 480:10-16
Consciousness, as well as action, is governed
by Mind, – is in God, the origin and gov-
ernor of all that Science reveals. Material sense has
its realm apart from Science in the unreal. Harmonious
action proceeds from Spirit, God. inharmony has no
Principle; its action is erroneous and presupposes man
to be in matter.
S&H vii:9-12
Theology and physics teach that both Spirit and
matter are real and good, whereas the fact is that
Spirit is good and real, and matter is Spirit’s oppo-
site.
S&H 192:9
Spirit
is not separate from God. Spirit is God.
S&H 285:15 Spirit
Spirit is not physical.
S&H 335:18-20
Spirit is eternal, divine. Noth-
ing but Spirit, Soul, can evolve Life, for Spirit
is more than all else.
S&H 468:11-12 (to Truth;)
Spirit is immortal
Truth;
S&H 120:4
Soul, or Spirit, is God, unchangeable and eternal; and
man coexists with and reflects Soul, God, for man is God’s
image.
S&H 278:4-5, 11, 21 Spirit
Spirit is the only substance and consciousness
recognized by divine Science.
Spirit can have no opposite.
…Spirit is supreme
and all-presence.
S&H 487:15
Spirit is all-knowing;
S&H 512:8-9
Spirit is symbolized by strength, presence, and power,
and also by holy thoughts, winged with Love.
S&H 578:9
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of
death, I will fear no evil: for [LOVE] is with me; [LOVE’s]
rod and [LOVE’S] staff they comfort me.

Practical Theology

Recently on the web site christianscience.com in the Community tab, was a post in the Circle of Faith blog by Shirley Paulson discussing an ecumenical topic known as “Practical Theology.” This is mainly a Protestant theology, centuries old, whose focus is becoming increasingly engaged in discovering ideas from the Bible that relate directly to contemporary human experience. Paulson states that it is only in the last couple of decades that its meaning has expanded to the point where the voice of Christian Science can contribute meaningfully. If you want to look it up, it’s blog #240.

But really, relating the Bible and its spiritual lesson to our contemporary life is exactly what we do every Wednesday evening. Every Wednesday there is opportunity to share experiences on how we have been uplifted and healed in our daily lives; putting our study of Biblical truths into practice.

KJV Acts 3:1-13 (to 1st Jesus:), 16
9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God: 10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him. 11 And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering. 12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? 13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; 16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
KJV II Samuel 22:33
33 God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.
KJV Isaiah 40:28-31
28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
KJV Habakkuk 1:12 (to 1st die.), 13 (to 1st iniquity:)
12 Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. 13 Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity:
KJV Matt 5:43-45 (to 1st heaven:), 48
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
KJV John 14:6
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
KJV Matt 9:18-25
18 While he spake …, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live. 19 And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples. 20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: 21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. 22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. 23 And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, 24 He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn. 25 But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
KJV Matt 7:20
20 … by their fruits ye shall know them.
KJV Galatians 5:22, 23, 25
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
KJV Galatians 6:8-10
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. 10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
KJV Ephesians 4:13
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

S&H 170:22
Spiritual causation is the one question to be considered,
for more than all others spiritual causation relates to
human progress. The age seems ready to
approach this subject, to ponder somewhat
the supremacy of Spirit, and at least to touch the hem
of Truth’s garment.
S&H 369:5-22
In proportion as matter loses to human sense all en-
tity as man, in that proportion does man become its
master. He enters into a diviner sense of the
facts, and comprehends the theology of Jesus
as demonstrated in healing the sick, raising the dead,
and walking over the wave. All these deeds manifested
Jesus’ control over the belief that matter is substance,
that it can be the arbiter of life or the constructor of any
form of existence.
We never read that Luke or Paul made a reality of
disease in order to discover some means of healing it.
Jesus never asked if disease were acute or
chronic, and he never recommended atten-
tion to laws of health, never gave drugs, never prayed
to know if God were willing that a man should live. He
understood man, whose life is God, to be immortal, and
knew that man has not two lives, one to be destroyed and
the other to be made indestructible.
S&H 328:20-25, 30-1
persons die there annually from serpent-bites? Under-
standing spiritual law and knowing that there is no mate-
rial law, Jesus said: “These signs shall follow them that
believe, . . . they shall take up serpents, and if they
drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them. They
shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
The purpose of his great life-work
extends through time and includes universal humanity.
Its Principle is infinite, reaching beyond the pale of a
single period or of a limited following.
S&H 43:27-4
The divine must overcome the human at every point.
The Science Jesus taught and lived must triumph over
all material beliefs about life, substance, and intelli-
gence, and the multitudinous errors growing from such
beliefs.
Love must triumph over hate. Truth and Life must
seal the victory over error and death, before the thorns
can be laid aside for a crown, the benediction follow,
“Well done, good and faithful servant,” and the suprem-
acy of Spirit be demonstrated.
S&H 170:18
If there are material laws which prevent disease, what
then causes it? Not divine law, for Jesus healed the
sick and cast out error, always in opposition, never in
obedience, to physics.
S&H 377:26-3
The cause of all so-called disease is mental, a mortal
fear, a mistaken belief or conviction of the necessity and
power of ill-health; also a fear that Mind is helpless to
defend the life of man and incompetent to control it. With-
out this ignorant human belief, any circumstance is of it-
self powerless to produce suffering. It is latent belief in
disease, as well as the fear of disease, which associates sick-
ness with certain circumstances and causes the two to
appear conjoined, even as poetry and music are repro-
duced in union by human memory.
S&H 378:22-30 (to inconceivable;)
Disease is not an intelligence to dispute the empire of
Mind or to dethrone Mind and take the government into
its own hands. Sickness is not a God-given,
nor a self-constituted material power, which
copes astutely with Mind and finally conquers it. God
never endowed matter with power to disable Life or to
chill harmony with a long and cold night of discord.
Such a power, without the divine permission, is incon-
ceivable;
S&H 384:30-18
Sickness, sin, and death must at length quail before
the divine rights of intelligence, and then the power
of Mind over the entire functions and organs of the
human system will be acknowledged. It is proverbial
that Florence Nightingale and other philanthropists en-
gaged in humane labors have been able to
undergo without sinking fatigues and expo-
sures which ordinary people could not endure. The ex-
planation lies in the support which they derived from
the divine law, rising above the human. The spiritual
demand, quelling the material, supplies energy and en-
durance surpassing all other aids, and forestalls the
penalty which our beliefs would attach to our best
deeds. Let us remember that the eternal law of right,
though it can never annul the law which makes sin its
own executioner, exempts man from all penalties but
those due for wrong-doing.
Constant toil, deprivations, exposures, and all untow-
ard conditions, if without sin, can be experienced with-
out suffering. Whatever it is your duty to do,
you can do without harm to yourself.
S&H 387:27
The history of Christianity furnishes sublime proofs
of the supporting influence and protecting power bestowed
on man by his heavenly Father, omnipotent
Mind, who gives man faith and understanding
whereby to defend himself, not only from temptation, but
from bodily suffering.
S&H 390:20
Suffer no claim of sin or of sickness to grow upon
the thought. Dismiss it with an abiding conviction that
it is illegitimate, because you know that God is no more
the author of sickness than He is of sin. You have no
law of His to support the necessity either of sin or sick-
ness, but you have divine authority for denying that neces-
sity and healing the sick.
S&H 395:6-11
Like the great Exemplar, the healer should speak to
disease as one having authority over it, leaving Soul to
master the false evidences of the corporeal
senses and to assert its claims over mortal-
ity and disease. The same Principle cures both sin and
sickness.
S&H 406:1-9
The Bible contains the recipe for all healing. “The
leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”
Sin and sickness are both healed by the same
Principle. The tree is typical of man’s divine
Principle, which is equal to every emergency, offering
full salvation from sin, sickness, and death. Sin will
submit to Christian Science when, in place of modes and
forms, the power of God is understood and demonstrated
in the healing of mortals, both mind and body.
